Byrd was born about 1835.

On 23 Jul 1865, Bird Jones and Caroline M. Carroll were married in Troy, Pike, Alabama, United States.^[1]

In the 1880 cnesus^[2] Byrd (transcribed and indexed on FamilySearch as Kyrd), born about 1832 in Georgia, United States, and his wife Caroline Jones, were residing in Pike, Alabama, United States, with children

In the 1880 census, Sarah Carrol, listed as a daughter, has the same last names as her mother on the marriage record, and, at age 19, was born before there marriage of her mother and Byrd; this suggests that Caroline was previously married. Find a Grave^[3] shows his wife as Caroline Martha Gibson Jones, and her Fi dAGrave memorial shows she was previously married to John Carroll Jr 1829–1863 (m. 1852).

His Find a Grave memorial shows has grave marker, which gives his death as 22 March 1891.
