Mayor of Wimbledon 1933-5

Emily was born in 1872 in Birkenhead. She was the daughter of Richard Jones, an insurance agent, and his wife Margaret.

In the 1881 census Emily (age 8), Scholar, was the daughter of Richard Jones in Birkenhead, Cheshire, England.[1]

In 1920 her husband was knighted and she became Lady Emily Roney.

She served as a Liberal local councillor in Wimbledon, and in 1933 became Mayor of Wimbledon, serving two terms. She was involved in assisting the unemployed, and refugees during World War II.

Emily died on 26 August 1957 and was buried in Wimbledon, London Borough of Merton, Greater London, England.[9]
