Biography

Laura Jones born 29 July 1852 in Sylacauga, Talladega, Alabama was the daughter of John Calvin Jones and Angelina G. Love. She married Angus Kelly McLeod on 8 February 1876 in Coosa County, Alabama.

Angus Kelly MacLeod, my great grandfather. Angus married Laura Jones, and their children were Margaret, Flora, Ann, Nall, Calvin, and William (my grandfather). Angus is buried at Woodlawn Cemetery in our family burial area, Miami, Florida. William Jones McLeod (1878-1958), my grandfather, married Charlotte Callaway Pope McLeod in 1900. Their children were: Charlotte Pope McLeod, Dorothy Callaway McLeod, and William Jones McLeod (my father).They emigrated from Coosa Co., Ala. to Miami, Florida in early 1900's. My father (1909-1991), William Jones McLeod, married my mother, Hazel Caroline Goza McLeod (1913-2013) in 1940. Their children are: Nancy Pope McLeod Sabia (me) and William Dennett McLeod. She passed away 2 August 1928 and is buried in Marble City Cemetery of Sylacauga, Talladega County, Alabama.
