Biography

Lena Nancy Jones was born in 1911. She was the daughter of Willis Merritt Jones and Belle Zona Miles. She passed away in 1988.

Her obituary in the Anniston Star, Saturday, 16 January 1988:

MUNFORD -- Services for Mrs. Lena J. Gaither, 76, of Munford, Rt. 1, will be today at 3 p.m. at Stockdale Baptist Church with the Rev. Jerry Long and the Rev. Leon Browning officiating. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery with Usrey Funeral Home in charge.

Mrs. Gaither died Thursday at the Talladega Nursing Home.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Louise G. Robinson of Munford; five sons, Leroy Gaither, Larry Gaither, Donald Gaither and Frank Gaither, all of Munford and Eugene Gaither of Smyrna, Ga.; a brother, Johnny A. Jones of Talladega; 14 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Gaither was a native of Clay County and lived in Talladega most of her life. She was a member of Stockdale Baptist Church, the Talladega Rhythm Band, the Golden Arches Club and the McElderry Home Demonstration Club.
