Edgar Victor Jolliffe was born on 14 January 1918 in Waimate, Canterbury, New Zealand, son of Harry Frederick James Jolliffe (1882–1959) and Phoebe Louisa Florence Deadmarsh (1884–1970).[1]
Edgar had a brother, Eric George Donovan Jolliffe (29 February 1916 – 19 July 1985).
Edgar (23) married Rosaleen Veronica Goodwin (29) (born on 7 April 1912 in Christchurch, Canterbury; daughter of Thomas Matthew Goodwin and Elizabeth Moore) on 28 June 1941 in New Zealand.[2] Their known children were :
- Veronica Maria Louise Jolliffe (1942-2020)
- Margaret Rosalie Jolliffe (27 May 1945 – 11 February 2011)
Edgar died on 5 November 2002 in Christchurch, Canterbury, aged 84.[3] He was buried in Memorial Park Cemetery, Bromley, Christchurch City, Canterbury, New Zealand.[4]
