Archibald Johnstone was born about 1866 in Prince Edward Island. [1] By 1881 he was a tailor's apprentice and lived in the home of Archibald and Barbara Campbell, Lot 21, Queen's, Prince Edward Island, Canada. [2] Archibald McMurdo Johnstone and Frances Elizabeth "Bessie" Dixon were married on 14 June 1888. By that time, Archibald was a tailor living in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island. [3] He continued living and working there. [4]
In 1893, they emigrated to the U. S. and made a home at 55 Westminster, Boston. Archibald continued there as a tailor. [5][6] By 1914, directories listed him in Brookline, Massachusetts. [7] In 1920 he had a shop there. His citizenship status was "alien." [8] Archibald lived at 636 Washington Street, Brookline, Norfolk, Massachusetts when his sister Jane Whitehead crossed the border on the 23rd of September 1923 going from New London, Prince Edward Island to Brookline to visit him. [9] Archibald died in Brookline in 1931. [10]
Archibald M Johnstone of 27 Babcock st, Brookline who had a tailor shop at 1348 Beacon St dropped dead last night while in a cafeteria at 315 Harvard st near Coolidge Corner. Dr Walter Denning, who was in the cafeteria found him beyond aid, and medical examiner William C Mackie sad death was due to natural causes. [11]
