Coraline was born on December 22, 1920, in Alabama. She was the fourth child and third daughter of John Johnson and Brownie Swanner.
John and Brownie would frequently move between Lauderdale County, Alabama, and Lawrence County, Tennessee. On one such trip from Lexington to Iron City, Coraline fell - causing fatal cerebral hemorrhaging. Coraline was taken to Dr. C. C. Hardison, but sadly passed away on August 25th, 1924, at around 4:30 p.m., and was buried at the Wade Cemetery the following day. Her burial was managed by W. L. Rhodes of Iron City.[1][2]
