Jacob Johnson of Harpswell, Maine, and His Descendants; by C. N. Sinnett, 1907, names his parents:
"He spent most of his life in Freeport, Me., on the farm at Wolf's Neck. Enlisted with brother, Jonathan, May 17, 1775. "Good Old Times" at North Yarmouth, Me., states: "James Johnson and seven of his children were baptized by Rev. Mr. Miltmore at a lecture on Great Chebeague Island, Me. Of the childen it is said, Lucy (married); Abner, James, Sarah, Edwrd, Lewis, Abigail." Maj. C.J. House of Augusta, Me., feels sure that in this list the names of Edward and Abigail are incorrectly given, and that Hannah and Herod were the right names of these children."
" James Johnson & Hannah Bates, were married 27^ Aug. 1778." [1]
