Biography

Zelda Jensen was born on 17 September 1930, at Huntsville, Utah, USA. She was the daughter of Ernest Lewis Jensen (1901-1982) and Viva Irene Geisler (1900-1979).

Zelda married Keith Floyd Barnett (1930-2017) on 15 September 1953, at Salt Lake City, Utah, USA

She passed away on 30 August 2016, at Centerville, Utah, USA. Zelda is buried at Lakeview Memorial Park, Bountiful, Utah, USA.^[1]

Obituary

Zelda Jensen Barnett, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend passed away peacefully at home on August 30, 2016 surrounded by loved ones. Zelda was born on September 17, 1930 in Farr West, Utah to Ernest and Viva Jensen. She graduated from Ogden High School in 1949 and attended Weber College. Married Keith Floyd Barnett in the Salt Lake Temple on September 15, 1953. They were blessed with four sons and one daughter.

Zelda was a hard worker and passed this work ethic onto her children. She always nurtured a pristine yard and garden. Her passion for cooking was a blessing to all. She was known for her famous candy at Christmastime and her yummy rolls. Being raised in a musical family, Zelda had a beautiful singing voice. As a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Zelda lived a life full of church service in numerous callings. Her faithful example is a cherished legacy to her family. She also served in the PTA and found joy in golfing, quilting, and organizing. She was an immaculate housekeeper. First and foremost she was a wonderful mother and taught her children well. All the grandkids loved going to grandma's house because she was so fun. Zelda has left her handprint on many hearts and has blessed the lives of all who knew her. She is survived by her loving husband of almost 63 years, Keith Floyd Barnett, their five children: Brad (Elaine) Barnett, Curtis (Barbara) Barnett, Debbie (Byron) Clawson, Greg (Traci) Barnett, and Kelly (Cheri) Barnett), 23 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her granddaughter Jennifer, and her great granddaughter Maeve.

Funeral services will be held in the Centerville Third Ward, 900 South 400 East, at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 6, 2016. There will be a viewing on Monday, September 5, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Russon Brothers Mortuary, 295 North Main, Bountiful, and another at the Centerville Third Ward from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. on Tuesday prior to the services. Interment will be at Lakeview Memorial Estates Cemetery.^[2]
