Susan was born in 1853. She is the daughter of Morgan Jenkins and Janette Edwards. She is buried with the Jenkins family in the Grove Hill Cemetery in Shelbyville, KY. ^[1]

According to the 1880 Federal Census, Susan was a dressmaker living with her parents in Shelbyville, KY.
