James moves from where his family have lived for multiple generations in Orpington to the Bethnal Green / Shoreditch area. The family seem mostly to be recorded as Jeal in Orpington and neighbouring St Mary Cray, but having moved, several variations on his surname before they seem to settle on Geal, and then his son James and descendants use Geall once in Australia.
