Born 24 Nov 1918. Booneville, Dallas, Iowa, United States. [1] Note: #HI1382.
WWII Military Veteran The US Military had to have alternative organizational elements to incorporate women; for the Coastguard it was the SPARS. [2] Marjorie had accounting and record keeping skills that were put to use to pay the sailors aboard ships while they were in San Diego. She had a contingent of burly swabbies to take care of security as she handed out paycheck envelopes of cash to sailors who were extremely well behaved, at least until they got their money.
Died 4 Dec 2002. Granger, Dallas, Iowa, United States. Cause: Congestive heart failure. [3]
Buried 7 Dec 2002. Sunny Hill Cemetery, Polk, Iowa, United States. [4] FSFTID L6FC-8KV.

Note HI1382(Research):[Roger A. Shepherd] Marjorie was actually born in rural Madison County, south of Booneville (according to her). I don't have a birth certificate, so I don't know which county recorded the birth.
