She was the daughter of William Jago and Elizabeth Harry.
In 1861, 5 year old Elizabeth lived with parents, Master Mariner, William (34) and Elizabeth (31) and siblings William (7), Susan (3) and Fanny Stevens (1) at Town Street, in the Town of Marazion, District of Penzance, in Cornwall, England[3]. By 1871, her father William was away at sea and Elizabeth (15), still at school, lived with her mother Elizabeth (42) and siblings Engine Pattern Maker, William (17), Susan (13), Fanny (11), John (8), Annie (6), Lucey (4) and Ernest (2). They had moved to Penpoll Terrace, in the Village of Phillack, District of Redruth, in Cornwall, England[4].
When Elizabeth was 21, she married Richard Veall (21) on the 2 April 1877 at the Parish Church of Saint Felicitas and Saint Piala, 15 Lethlean Lane, on the northern side of Phillack Churchtown, in the Village of Phillack, overlooking the lower-lying town of Hayle to the south, and half-a-mile (0.8 km) inland from St Ives Bay on Cornwall's Atlantic ocean coast, England. Richard worked as an Artisan living in Mount Pleasant and Elizabeth, in Commercial Road, Phillack. After Banns were posted, the couple were married by Rector, Frederick (Hockin) in the presence of William (Jago) and Francis (Jago)[5][6][7]. During the marriage, five children were born to the couple.
With the birth of their son Harry in 1879, the family were living in the Town of Toxteth Park, near the City of Liverpool, on the River Mersey, Lancashire, England. In 1891, Elizabeth (35) lived with children Archibald (13), May (10), Jane (6) and Frederick (2) along with General/Domestic Servant, Ellen A. (Davies) (18) at 74 Wordsworth Street, in the Town of Toxteth Park, Parish of St. Bedes, in Lancashire, England[8]. The Veall family had moved, by 1901, to 77 Ampthill Road, in Toxteth Park, Lancashire, England. Elizabeth (45) looked after children Corn Salesman, Archibald (23), May (20), Jane "Jennie" (16) and Frederick (12). General/Domestic Servant, Mary E. (Cheshire) (16) also resided with the family[9].
Still on her own in 1911, Elizabeth (55) lived with children Jane (36) and House Joiner, Frederick (32) and Domestic Servant, Annie (Jones) (28) at 77 Ampthill Road, in Toxteth Park[10]. On the 8 October 1925, Engineer, Richard (69) and Elizabeth (69) boarded the Aberdeen Line vessel "Demosthenes" at the Port of London, on the River Thames, England. The reason for the voyage was that the couple intended to make Australia their permanent residence as their son, Frederick and his wife and daughter had moved to Western Australia. Their last known residence in the UK was 2 Parkfield Avenue, in Bognor, Sussex, England. Their arrival at the Port of Melbourne took place on the 23 November 1925[11].

However, their emigration was short-lived for the couple were back living in the seaside Town of Paignton on the coast of Tor Bay in Devon, England several years later, where Richard died in 1937. After his death, Elizabeth (84), now a widow, was living with her widowed daughter, Jane "Jennie" (Veall/Owen), two years later in 1939, at 2 Prospect Place, in the Village of Bathford, in the rural district of Bathavon, 3 miles (4.8 km) east of the City of Bath, in Somerset, England[13]. At the grand old age of 91, Elizabeth passed away on the 11 July 1947 at her home, from Sudden Heart Failure due to Coronary Thrombosis[14].
