Orletta Lucinda Jacobs was born in 1865. She was the daughter of Fredus Jacobs and Margaret Kennedy. In the 1870 census Oralitia (age 6), At Home, was in Clyde, Whiteside, Illinois.[1] In the 1880 census Etta (age 16) was the single daughter of Margaret Jacobs in Clyde, Whiteside, Illinois, United States.[2] In Illnois she was a member of the Methodist Episcopal church.
Etta married Milton King on 18 February 1890 in Whiteside County, Illinois.[3][4] They came to Nebraska in Spring 1899. They lived in Kearney, and then moved to a farm south of Amherst, Buffalo County, Nebraska. In the 1900 census Etta (age 36) was the wife of Milton King in Grant, Buffalo, Nebraska.[5] In the 1910 census Etta (age 45) was the wife of Milton King in Grant, Buffalo, Nebraska, United States.[6] In the 1920 census Etta (age 54) was the wife of Milton King in Grant, Buffalo, Nebraska.[7] In 1921 Milton and Etta moved to the town of Amherst. In Nebraska Etta attended the United Brethren church and was a member of the Amherst Women's Club. In the 1930 census Etta (age 64) was the wife of Milton King in Amherst, Buffalo, Nebraska, United States.[8] In the 1940 census Etta (age 74) was the wife of Milton King in Amherst, Buffalo, Nebraska.[9]
Orletta died on Wednesday, 12 March 1941, in Amherst. Funeral services were Friday, 14 March 1941, at the United Brethren Church in Amherst with Rev. Herman Voss. She was buried in Stanley Cemetery, Amherst, Buffalo County, Nebraska, United States.[10]
