Glen was born in Moonta, South Australia during 1898. He is the son of William Jacob and Sophia Collins. He passed away in St Peters, South Australia during 1964.
Glen was born in Moonta, South Australia on 8 December 1898 to William Jacob and Sophia Collins.[1]
Glen served in the Australian Army during the First and Second World Wars. In the first war, he enlisted on 27 April 1916, and was given the rank of Private in the 50th Battalion, 4th Reinforcement. He departed with his unit from Adelaide, South Australia for Europe on HMAT A70 Ballarat on 12 August 1916. He served on the Western Front, and was wounded and captured by enemy forces on 2 April 1917. He was released from imprisonment on 31 December 1918, and returned Australia on 31 March 1919. During the second war, he served in the Australian Army Service Corps and was discharged on 24 March 1944 with the rank of Captain.[2][3][4]
Glen married Mary McTaggart in Hackney, South Australia on 4 October 1927.[5]
Glen died in St Peters, South Australia on 22 May 1964 at the age of 65 years.[6]
Glen was buried at the North Road Cemetery in Nailsworth, South Australia.
