In the 1940 census, Pery (age 30), Laborer, was the single brother-in-law of William M Hicks in Lakeland, Polk, Florida.^[3]

Perry registered for the WWII draft on 16 October 1940 in Lakeland, Polk, Florida, United States. He listed his sister, Beulah C Hicks, as next of kin.^[4]

In the 1945 census, Perry (age 35) was in Precinct 36, Polk County, Florida, living alone.^[5]
