Mary Ann Jackson was born about 1846[1]-1848[2] in New York[1] or Vermont[2][3]. She was the child[1][2][3] of John Francis Jackson and Julia Ann Morocco, the grandchild of Amos and Rhoda Morocco, the sister of Civil War veterans Francis and Elmer, as well as the first cousin of Civil War veterans Eugene Crosier, Silas Crosier Jr., Henry Prince and Isaac Prince Jr., all of whom served with the famous 54th Massachusetts Volunteer Infantry.
