Eleanor Elizabeth Jacka was born in 1909 in San Francisco, California, United States, daughter of Francis Jacka (1883–1959) and Emily May Stokes (1887–1958).
On March 21, the wedding of Miss Eleanor Jacka, eldest daughter of Mr. P. Jacka, of "Myora," Cato Street, and Mr. John Herbert McLennan, of "Ferndale," Cargo Road, son of Mr. John McLennan, of "Waree," Store Creek, was solemnised at the Congregational Church by Rev. T. J. Harper. The church was prettily decorated by Miss Eva Woods, who also presided at the organ. The bride entered the church on the arm of her father, dressed in a beautiful frock of rose beige marocain, with hat to tone, and carried a bouquet of roses and cactus dahlias. She was attended by Miss Dulcie Stokes as bridesmaid, who looked charming in a frock of pink georgette, with touches of blue. She carried a lovely bouquet of flowers. Mr. Douglas Atkins was best man. The reception was held at the residence of the bride's parents. The mother of the bride received the guests in a dress of black crepe-de-chine, with oriental trimmings. The honeymoon is being spent in Sydney. The bride travelled in a frock of brown charmelaine, with hat to match. On the eve of the bride severing her connection with the firm of Edgleys, where she had been in the office for five years, she was presented with a beautiful travelling rug, a case of sliver spoons, and cut glass tumblers by the head of the firm and the employees, who wished her every happiness. Their future home will be at "Ferndale," Cargo Road.[2]
Eleanor died on June 15, 2004 in Orange, New South Wales, Australia, aged 95.[3]
