Thomas' wife Janet is listed as a widow on the 1851 census living at Kirkstyle with two sons and two daughters.[12] There is a "Thos Jack" who died or was buried on 31 August 1841 in Airdrie or New Monkland, Scotland. This may be this Thomas Jack.[13]
