Daniel married Elizabeth J. Weeden on November 18, 1854, in Vernon, Sussex, New Jersey. (His sister Ruth married her brother John in March 1860). They had four known sons - Norman, Maurice, Etson, and Albert (in the 1900 Census, Elizabeth reports having borne six children, with two still surviving).[1]
In 1855, Daniel and Elizabeth resided in Warwick, Orange, New York, in a house with Daniel's aunt and uncle and sister, and Daniel worked as a carpenter, a profession he pursued his entire working life.[2]
In 1863, Daniel registered for the Civil War draft while living in Warwick, Orange, New York.[3]
From 1860 to 1880, the couple lived with their sons in Warwick, Orange, New York.[4][5][6][7][8] In 1900, the couple lived in Warwick, Orange, New York, and Daniel was retired.[1]
Daniel reached 75 years of age and died in 1902. He was buried at Warwick Cemetery in Warwick, Orange, New York.[9]
