Mrs. Maggie Bass (Bess) Johnson, 84, 937 Sun Valley Road, Birmingham, died Tuesday in a Birmingham hospital. Funeral services will be Thursday at 3:30 p.m. at Collier-Butler Funeral Home chapel. Burial will be in Forrest cemetery.
Survivors are stepson, Reese Johnson, New London, Conn.; sisters, Mrs. Lillie Mae Brown, Attalla, Mrs. Elizabeth Lockmiller, Gadsden and Mrs. Josie Hudson, Portland, Ore.; brother, David Hyatt, Gadsden; six grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
Mrs. Johnson was a native and resident of Etowah County most of her life and had resided in Birmingham for the past three years. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church.
