Biography

Son of Adrien Hué and Anne Lesieur. He married Marie Crespin at the protestant temple in Rouen on October 18, 1633.

Research notes

The discovery of two burial records for Marc Hué, toilier, complicates the date of his death. The burials are within two years of each other and the ages shown are both credible for the husband of Marie Crespin. Both are in the records of Quevilly Temple and neither names a spouse or designated relative among the witnesses. One record is dated 22 December 1669[1] giving his age as 66 of Saint-Maclou (thus born about 1603). The second is dated 13 February 1671[2] giving his age as 60 of Saint-Vivien (thus born about 1611). Saint-Maclou and Saint-Vivien were adjoining parishes on the east side of Rouen and the family of Marc and his wife Marie Crespin were cited at each of them. Until some corroborating information can be found, it is presently difficult to say which record is for this man. One can only say he died about 1670. In New France the marriage contract of his daughter Marie in December 1667 doesn't say to which parish her parents belonged, but the marriage record of January 1668 indicates they were of Saint-Vivien.

Hi Jamie,

I believe that the burial/death for Marc is incorrect;

If you look at the baptism for Catherine Hue born 1645, Marc states that he is living at St Maclou parish. In 1651 when his daughter Madeleine is buried, he says he is living at St Vivien.

The burial of Marc Hue Feb 3, 1671 at the Grand Temple, states the this Marc was living at St Vivien and was a Toillier. He was aged around 60.
