Thomas was born in 1581. He was the son of Matthew Hutton and Beatrix Fincham. He entered Queen's College of Cambridge University in 1597, and was admitted at Gray's Inn 1 November 1599.[1]
He married Anne Bennet, daughter of Sir John Bennet of Dawley, near Uxbridge, and a relative by marriage of John Piers, Archbishop of York 1588-94. Together they had at least two children[2]: Elizabeth Hutton (b. 17 Feb 1619-d. 1662); and Richard Hutton (of Popleton). Thomas was knighted 6 August 1617.[3] He died 23 January 1620, aged 39, and is buried at Nether Poppleton.[4]
