John was born about 1620 in England. He was the son of Hercules Hunkins (abt.1618-1659). John emigrated to Portsmouth, New Hampshire before 1650.
John Hunkings married Agnes about 1650 in Portsmouth, New Hampshire.[1] John was a fisherman on the Isle of Shoals, and in Portsmouth he began a ship-building business.
