Dorothy Jean Hunkin was born on 19 January 1923 in Kirtland, Lake, Ohio, United States, daughter of Sidney Walter Hunkin (1890–1955) and Ruth C Parks (1889–1923).[1]

Her siblings were:

  1. Clarence Raymond Hunkin (15 January 1916 – 30 June 2003)
  2. Merwin Arthur Hunkin (7 February 1918 – 16 March 1992)

Dorothy died on 10 March 2012 in Mentor, Lake, aged 89.[2]
