Frederick Alfred Theodore Hunkin was born on 22 October 1846 in Black Torrington, Devon, England, United Kingdom, son of Edmund Hunkin (1814–1881) and Mary Hunkin (1811–1898).[1]
From a direct relative: "Nora Sillifant married Fred Hunkins. Fred was a blacksmith. I believe Nora and Fred came to the United States from England. When they came from England the last name added an"s". Was Hunkin, now Hunkins."[2]
