1871 England Census: 2 Raven Row, Whitechapel, Middlesex, England East India Pensioner living with widowed daughter, Sarah Smith and her 2 children: Mary Ann Smith and Henry Charles Smith. Sarah Smith was a cricket ball maker.

John Hulme died 22 Nov 1871 at 2 Raven Row, Whitechapel at age 80. Witness was Catherine Emmett Wilkins.

Buried in a private grave in Tower Hamlets Cemetery with his son, John Pye Hulme, his wife Mary Pye Hulme, his daughter Mary Ann Suggars and her husband, John Foulgar Suggars, and a grand daughter.
