Biography
Orpheus was baptised on 30 November 1787 in St Briavels by parents William and Sarah. [1]
On 17 September 1814 Orpheus married Sarah Lee at St Briavels. Jonathan Lee, Margaret Lee and William Hullin Clark were witnesses. [2]
The couple baptised their children with some wonderful, unusual names, including;
- 1815 Amelia
- 1817 Tabitha
- 1820 Kezia
- 1822 Booth
- 1824 Marain
- 1826 Mira
- 1829 Bach (Barnabas)
In 1851 Orpheus and Sarah were living in St Briavels with children Mira and Barnabas. Orpheus was a Mason. [3]
Orpheus died aged 86 in 1872 and was buried at St Briavels on 11 August. [4]
