Daniel Hulett was born in 11 May 1748 in Killingly, Windham, Connecticut.[1] He was a son of Josiah Hulett and his wife Lydia (maiden name unknown).[2][3]
Daniel was a soldier of the American Revolution.[1] While living in Connecticut, he enlisted in 1776 as a Private under Captain Ephraim Warren, then Captain Stephen Crosby in the 3rd Battalion, Colonel Comfort Sage, Wadsworth's Brigade, Continental Army.[4] By Fall of 1780, he had moved to Vermont, where he served with Captain Samuel Willard in the Vermont Militia.[5] He was awarded a pension for his service.[6]
On 3 Aug 1774, he married Abigail Paul at Killingly, Connecticut.[7] Their first two children were born in Connecticut, but they had moved to Pawlet, Rutland, Vermont by the time the third child (Hannah) was born.

The 1790 census lists Daniel "Howlet" as a head of household, Danby, Rutland, Vermont.[11]
Daniel Hulett Passed away on 27 Aug 1838 at Pawlet, Rutland County, Vermont.[1] He was buried at Hulett Cemetery in Pawlet.[12]

Hiel Hollister, Pawlet One Hundred Years, J. Munsell: Albany, NY, 1867, 205: "from Killingly, Conn., 1780; settled on the Willard tract. He was at the Battle of Saratoga... He and his wife both died in 1838, the former 90, the latter 83." His sons were Paul, Daniel and Joshua.
