Biography

Nancy "Lizzie" Elizabeth Hughes came into the world on June 17, 1856, in Newark, Independence County, Arkansas. Her early years were spent in Big Bottom Township, within the same county, as indicated by the 1860 census records.

On June 11, 1871, Nancy embarked on a new chapter in her life when she married Martin Luther Arnold, a significant event that marked the beginning of their life together.

Throughout the late 19th and early 20th centuries, Nancy remained a steadfast presence in Big Bottom Township, Independence County, Arkansas, as reflected in the census records of 1880, 1900, 1910, and 1920.
