Phillip Huff was born in Kentucky, probably in Wayne County. He was a son of Philip Huff and Hannah (Spencer) Huff. While records generally appear under Huff, his Find a Grave record and some descendants appear to have used Hufft as the spelling of the surname.
On 24 Dec 1840 in Wayne County, Kentucky, he married Catharine Shearer.[1]
Note: See tThe obituary of one of his daughters, which recounts the family's migration etc. to California.[2]
