"Funeral services for Carl Mitchell Huddleston, 83, Koshkonong, will be 7 p.m. Saturday, June 21, 2003, in the Rose Chapel of the Robertson-Drago Funeral Home of West Plains. Committal services will be 6 a.m. Sunday at Jolliff Cemetery.
Mr. Huddleston died 1:40 pm. Wednesday, June 18, 2003, at Oilton, Okla, the son of Will Randle and Anna Matilda Moore Huddleston.
He received a bachelor of science degree in education from Arkansas State University-Jonesboro.
On Sept. 24, 1945, he was married at Salem, Ark., to Elsa Vera Redburn.
Mr. Huddleston was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during World War II.
His education career spanned 31 years, 21 of which he was the principal at Koshkonong School.
Mr. Huddleston attended Shilo Church at Rover.
Survivors include his wife, Elsa Huddleston, of the family home; eight children, J.C. Huddleston and wife, Kay, and Donald Gene Huddleston and wife, Carla, all of West Plains, and Roy Huddleston, Audena Granger, Ronald Huddleston and wife, Patricia, Mary Anna St. Clair and husband, Raymond, Pamela Sue Hollis and husband, Mike, and Timmie Linn Huddleston, all of Rover; 13 grandchildren . . . 5 great-grandchildren . . . one brother, J.B. Huddleston and wife, Donna, Wichita, Kan., and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one grandson, Michael Crawford; one brother, Thomas Robert Huddleston; and one son-in-law Coy Granger. . .
Memorial contributions may be made to Jolliff Cemetery and left at the funeral home.
The body will lie in state at the funeral home from 1 p.m. Saturday until service time. Family visitation will be 6 to 7 p.m. Saturday.
Military honors will be provided by the Missouri Military Funeral Honors Program and the Veterans Honor Guard of West Plains."
