Losey B "Linds" Huckaby was born on March 12, 1905, in Nemo, Hickory, Missouri, his father, Joseph Riggs "Jay" Huckaby, was 21 and his mother, Alzieu Uretta "Rettie" "Alza" Dorman, was 23. He married Anna Beatrice Elizabeth "Bea" Amlin on August 23, 1925, in Auburn, Placer County, California. They had three children in 10 years.
He was a native of Urbana, Missouri and a resident of Auburn, California for 38 years. At the time of death, he was employed at McClellan Air Force Base, where he was a member of the American Federation of Government Employees, Lodge No. 1655. He died suddenly at his home at 165 Russell Road, Auburn, Placer, California, on September 18, 1960, at the age of 55, and was buried in the Old Auburn Cemetery at Auburn, Placer, California.
