William Hoyt was born 5 Sep 1660 in Salisbury, Essex, Massachusetts ^{[1] [2]} He married Dorothy Colby, daughter of Samuel Colby, on 12 Jan 1687/88 in Amesbury, Massachusetts. ^{[1] [2] [3]} Together they had nine children: ^[4]
