Most of my research has been done quite casually and intermittently thru LDS FamilySearch. There I followed my Mauldin line back to The Francis Mauldins in MD. As for J. Morgan, my GGrandad, yes, he was married 3 times, but Hughda- MY Granddad, & Ben were Both sons of Jennie Campbell Freeman. Ben was my Grandads only Full brother. I dont have the dates before me at the moment, but I have the Knowledge of MY family, as told to me by my father DL "Smiley" Mauldin. The first wife Josie Street "ran off" to Tx, and took her red headed son, Solomon, with her" When I have more time, I will get into all this again, see if I can get dates and locales down. I will put my DNA test where you can access it. More Later !! Barb M Stokes
1-30-18 Just found that WE two ARE distant cousins, up the CHILDERS tree ~ ha ha
We share an ancestor, the father of William McCreight, Jr: William Sr was born Dec 1736 in Culleybackey County, Antrim Ireland. My branch comes from his first born son, Robert McCreight. Yours from William Jr , I think 6th child and first son born in the U.S., on 6/17/1774 in Winnsboro SC. If you need more info, I think I downloaded copies of land grants from King Henry II. My branch ended up in Georgia and traveled by covered wagon to Texas, where my great great grandfather William Salathiel McCreight was born in 1847 and became quite a character, amassing 800 and cultivating 100 acres in Bowie Co, and saving the county treasury with 2 friends at the point of a gun when the bank was about to go under, among other adventures.
Thanks for you message and Wow. Just WOW that's a lot of information!
Thanks!
