"DARGAN (Silverwood) -On the 27th September, at the residence of her eldest son, William, Highett road, Highett, Janet, the dearly loved mother of Will, Alf (deceased), Syd, Ida (deceased), Famie [sic], May, George, Bert and Fred Silverwood
-Jesus lover of my soul."
She was buried on 28 Sep 1938 in the St. Kilda General Cemetery,
"DARGAN (Silverwood).-The Friends of the late Mrs. JANET DARGAN are informed that her remains will be interred in the St. Kilda Cemetery. The funeral will leave the residence of her eldest son (Mr. William Silverwood), Bellerive, Highett road, Highett. THIS DAY (Wednesday, 28th September), at 1.30 p.m.
DRAYTON and GARSON, Funeral Directors, 1217 High street. Malvern. Tel. U1228."

Janet was born about 1856. She passed away about 1920.
Janet married her 2nd Husband William Dargan on April 13 1907 She was 53 had been a widower for 20 years since her husband william Silverwood had died in his mid 40s, leaving her with a score of children. She was married at the Manse 101 Gore St Fitzroy. She had lived in Prahran for many years but she then moved into William's house at 37 Murray St, Preston. Her new husband's occupation was listed as commercial traveller and he had been born in Tipperary, Ireland.
