Although your direct Howard ancestor is from a different Howard line than mine, I am very familiar with your Howard line. And.... we show as 9th cousins, 2xs removed on the relationship finder. That's because Wikitree shows Elizabeth (Howard) Osborne as her mother. And Elizabeth shows as a descendent of Matthew Howard (1609), my direct ancestor. Intermarriage between the two lines.
That's a bit of a controversy with some, as there isn't a good paper trail for Elizabeth. But... me and my dad have many DNA matches to those Osborne/Howards on Ancestry, so I am pretty sure the connection is correct.
If you are interested, I have a Facebook multi-family group page called "Howard and Allied Families" with over 700 members. About half are Howards (from both of our lines, and another line that goes to Thomas James Howard (that married Leticia Durham).
