Almond Houston was born February 22, 1854 in Manhattan, New York City, New York, United States to parents James Houston and Mary Mansfield .

Almond was working as a painter (27yrs) when he met then married Carrie Lou Holmes (22yrs) on May 25, 1881 in Cook County, Illinois. ^[1][2]
