Research Notes

On the 1950 Census, he is the only child of his father Daniel who is in the household of Daniel's parents, Daniel and Rosa. This by itself is not necessarily unusual, however, all his records that state his mother's name call her "Viola". His father Daniel was married to Susie May McCray. It is difficult to know if Viola was another woman, or that when reporting his mother's name, someone got it wrong. Because there is a question of his mother, she will be left blank at this time and additional research would be needed to determine if his mother is Susie or another woman named Viola.
