Biography

Daniel Householder was born on 10 Mar 1774 in Berks County, Pennsylvania, and baptized on 6 May 1774, the son of Adam and Chtharine Householder. [1]

Daniel married Catherine Smith on 7 Apr 1796 in Loudoun County, Virginia. [2] The couple had at least five children together: [1]

  1. Jonathan (b. 12 Feb 1797, bp. 26 Mar 1797)[3]
  2. Elizabeth (b. c1802)
  3. Adam (b. 12 Feb 1808,[1] d. 14 Sep 1883)[4]
  4. Jacob (b. 27 Jun 1812, bp. 30 Aug 1812)[5]
  5. Gideon (b. 4 Jun 1819[1] or 21 Jun 1819, bp. 12 Dec 1819)[6]

Catherine died in 1820.

In 1810 the family was living in Loudoun County, Virginia. The household consisted of: [7]

In 1850 he was a 76 year old farmer with real estate valued at $8000, living in Loudoun County, Virginia with his wife Priscilla (63), son Adam (42), son Silas (21), laborer Jno Miller (17), George Householder (9), Lydia Lehaley (18), and Mary Cooper (68). [12]

In 1860 he was an 86 year old farmer with real estate valued at $25,000 and a personal estate of $4,200, living in Loudoun County, Virginia with his wife Priscilla (72), sons Adam (51, farming) and Silas A (32, farming), and Martha Ferald (8, "mulatto") and Samuel Tinnberrs (12, "mulatto"). [13]

He died on 17 Nov 1865 near Lovettsvelle, Virginia [14] and was buried at New Jerusalem Lutheran Church Cemetery in Lovettsville, Loudoun, Virginia. [15]
