Biography
Minerva Sarah Ellen Hough was born on August 15, 1884, in Lehighton, Carbon, Pennsylvania. She was the daughter of Moses Hough and Sarah Ellen Hafer. She was baptized in Summit Hill, Carbon, Pennsylvania, on September 22, 1884.[1]
In 1900, she was living with her parents and siblings in Bloomingdale, Carbon, Pennsylvania.[2]
At the age of 19, Minerva married Theodore Hartman Weisel on February 17, 1904, in Carbon County, Pennsylvania, when he was 22 years old.[3] They had three children - Kathryn Ellen, Robert Hough, and Donald Hartman.
From 1910 to 1940, the couple lived in Summit Hill, Carbon, Pennsylvania (with children through 1930), where Theodore worked as a driver and clerk for grocery and dry goods stores.[4][5][6][7]
Theodore died in an automobile accident in August 1952. Minerva died of a heart attack in Palmerton, Carbon, Pennsylvania, on October 3, 1967, at the age of 83.[8][9][10] She was buried at Grand Army of the Republic Cemetery in Summit Hill, Carbon, Pennsylvania.[11]
