In 1870, he was living with his parents in Stockton, Camden County, New Jersey.
His father was a butcher.

In 1880, he was living with his parents at 814 Market Street, Camden, Camden County, New Jersey. He was attending school; his father was a butcher.[6]

He served as corporal in the U.S. Marine Corps, from 19 August 1890 to 9 August 1895.
He enlisted in the U.S. Navy on 24 October 1895. He had serial number 13594. He fought in the Spanish-American War, and in the Philippine Insurrection.
In 1900, he was a 2nd-class fireman on the USS Glacier, which was in the Philippine Islands.
His home address in the States was 2232 Sepviva Street, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

He was promoted to oiler on 26 January 1904.
He was discharged on 21 December 1905, at Norfolk, Virginia.

Albert was a machinist at the Navy Yard.
They were living with Julia's children Wesley and Myrtle, and with Albert's mother.

In 1920, Albert and Julia were living at 2104 Ontario Street, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Albert was a clerk at the Navy Yard.
They were living with their children Albert and John, and with Julia's children Myrtle and Wesley.

He began receiving a pension on 10 March 1923.

On 7 July 1923, he died, at the U.S. Navy Hospital, League Island, Philadelphia, of chronic nephritis and cardiac complications.
He had lived there for one month and seven days; before that, he lived at the U.S. Naval Home.
The informant was his wife Julia, who was living at 347 Arcadia Street.
On 11 July, he was buried, in Mt Moriah Cemetery, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Shortly after his death (on 25 July), his wife applied for a pension based on his service, and received it.

On 24 April 1934, Julia applied for compensation for his service in the Spanish-American War.
