Work History for Charles. Started work after school and in holidays at 14 for Duncan and Davies Nursery in Waitara Taranaki. he also volunteered once a week with IHC home in Waitara until he moved North with his Parent's in 1974 to Tapu, north of Thames NZ. He carried on, with after school and holiday work at his parent's shop, 'The Tapu Tucker Box'. Charles is an industrial Process Electrician/PLC programmer/Instrument Technician. He started this journey in April 1976 as an apprentice Electrician at NZ Farmer Fertilizer Ltd in Fitzroy New Plymouth and became qualified with two advanced trade certificates (A&B) in 1980. At the beginning of 1981 he had his third advanced trade certificate, paper 'C' Industrial electronics. In March 1981 he moved from Taranaki to Whangarei in Northland New Zealand. He was employed by and industrial electrical installation company 'Northland Electrical' During that time he worked at many key northland business sites through out the Whangarei area. Including spending 12 months on the Wilsons Cement Plant dry process upgrade in 1983 as site foreman for instrument install company W. A. Fishers from Auckland. He worked there until March 1984 and then was employed by the Northland Base Hospital, where his duties covered electrical, instrument and biomedical equipment repairs. During his time there he completed the forth advanced trade electrical paper 'D' (industrial electronics and instrumentation) to complete the set of 4 papers. In March 1988 he left the Hospital to work for Wilsons Portland Cement Ltd. (later became Golden Bay Cement Ltd) He was employed as an Industrial maintenance Electrician and worked in the day maintenance department until 1996 when he moved to the production shift department as the shift Process Electrician/PLC programmer/Instrument Technician. In 2008-9 he studied to be Instrument technician with the Weston Institute of technology from Taranaki and completed required NZQA standards. Currently still working for Golden Bay Cement as Senior process electrician technician.
