Alicia Tryphena Hoskin born 1906 Violet Town, Victoria, Australia. Daughter of Thomas George Hoskin and Catherine Belle nee Abbott. Alice Tryphena Hoskin (Sue or Patricia) was a great pianist and used to play in Glen's (the sheet music people) shop to demonstrate the music for sale. She once played, accompanied by Doris Sinclair, for the Duke of York on his trip out to Australia. She was ALCM 1924. She drove during the war as a chauffeur for U.S. soldiers. She was engaged to a chap who died and then married Walter Lindrum. "In March of 1933 Walter Lindrum was joined in England by Miss Patricia Hoskin. Pat had been Walter's secretary for some time and hailed from the small country Victorian township of Violet town. More relevant was the fact that Pat and Walter had been engaged for over six months. It was a closely guarded secret that few of Walter's friends knew. To complete the intrigue, Walter and Pat were married at the registry office in Henrietta Street, London on 9 April 1933 with only Mr. And Mrs. Clark McConachy and two other friends present. It was a low key wedding for such a well known sportsman but undoubtably Walter had his own reasons for preferring a quiet ceremony." [A Ricketts, Walter Lindrum; billiards phenomenon] After their divorce in 1954 she worked as a receptionist at Tattersalls in Flinders Lane, Melbourne.
