Biography
- Roger Horn was born the sixth child of Anderson and Hazel Horn. They lived near College Corner, Preble, Ohio.
In 1946 or 1947, they moved to a small farm. near Camden, Preble, Ohio. In 1949, they moved to a farm on Eaton Rd. Camden, Preble, Ohio. where they lived until the Summer of 1956, when his father took a job with Miami University in Oxford, Butler, Ohio. Roger graduated from Talawanda High School, class of 1963, the first boy in the family to do so. He served in the United States Navy on active duty from Aug. 1964 until Aug 1968, advancing to Aviation Machinist Mate 3rd Class. He received an Honorable Discharge Aug. 1970. During his tour of duty, he made two WestPac cruises aboard the USS Ranger - 1965 -1966 cruise, and the USS Constellation - 1967 cruise.
