Biography

Hattie Mae (Holte) Sibley is a part of US Black heritage.

Hattie Mae was born in 1923. She is the daughter of Henry Holte and Tempey Reed. She was born in Georgia, but by 1935, was living with her parents and siblings in Jacksonville, Florida. In the 1940 census, she and most of her siblings were living back in Georgia, Militia District 900, Baker County, with their maternal grandparents, Josh and Mariah or Marie Reed. Josh was a farmer, on rented land. In 1940, she married Walter Sibley. They had 11 children. She died in 2013, and is buried in Wilson Blue Spring Cemetery.
