Genealogically Defined

George was born in 1835 at New Hampton, Middlesex, England^[1][2][3][4], and baptised on the 13th December 1835 at St. Mary, Hampton, Middlesex, England, the son of George Holmes (shoemaker)^[1][5] and Ann Holmes of Hampton^[6].

On the 15th July 1860, George Holmes married Elizabeth Jane Funnell at All Saints, Upper Norwood, Surrey, England. George Holmes, 24, bachelor, bricklayer of Norwood, son of George Holmes (shoemaker); and Elizabeth Jane Funnell, 20, spinster of Norwood, daughter of James Funnell (gardener). Witnessed by Henry Keene (Elizabeth Jane's brother-in-law) and Kezia Keene (Elizabeth Jane's sister)^[5].

George's wife Elizabeth Jane died aged 58 years in 1898^[7] at Forest Hill, London, England.

George Holmes died aged 77 years in 1913 at Forest Hill, London, England^[8].
