Biography
She was born on 22 Sep 1834 in Obermiesau, Germany and her parents were Elisabetha Margaretha (Scherer, 1790–1863) and (Johan) Ludwig Hollinger (1788–1875).
About 1850 she emigrated to Canada.
Barbara Hollinger first married about 1852 to Philip Durst (1818-1861).
They resided on a farm near Three Bridges in Elmira, Waterloo Region, Ontario, Canada (later owned by their son, Louis Durst).
Barbara married secondly about 1874 in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada to Henry Ziegler (1827-1903).
In her later years she went to live with her son, Fred Durst, in Kitchener, Waterloo Region, Ontario, Canada, where she died about 1925 at 91 years old. [1] She was buried at St. James Cemetery in Elmira, Waterloo Region, Ontario, Canada. [2]
