Michael was born in on October 31, 1844 to Heinrick (Henry) and Magalene (Stoll) Hollinger in Bettsville, Seneca County, Ohio.[1] The 1850 Census lists Michael as being 6 yrs. old and in the household of Henry and Magdalen Hullinger (sp) which would tend to corroborate his birth year.[2]
Michael married his first wife, Charlotta Schulte on December 3, 1868 in Sandusky County, Ohio.[3] and moved to Liberty Township, Seneca, Ohio[4] where they had four children, Henry A.[5], Charles, Mary, and Michael.[6]
According to the 1870 Census, Michael, his wife Charlotta (Sharlott), and their 8 month old son Henry were living in Liberty Township, Seneca County, Ohio.[7]
It would appear that Charlotta suffered from some from of mental illness as the family tree information states that she had been hospitalized in Dayton, Toledo and finally Lima where she passed away in 1920.[8].[9]
Documentation regarding a divorce between Michael and Charlotta has yet to be located as of November 2, 2021. However, Michael married a widow, Mary Jane (Smith) Rogers, on June 3, 1877 in Michigan.[10] They had three children Catherine, William and Lillian.[11]
The 1910 Census lists Michael as living in Divide, Chouteau, Montana with his wife Mary and daughter Lillian who was 21 at the time.[12] The 1920 Census also lists Michael living in Blaine County, Montana.[13]
He passed away in 1928 in Yakima, Washington,[14] presumably living with his son William. He was buried in the Tahoma Cemetery in Yakima.[15]
