Biography

Edyth Mary (Hollinger) Blanchard was born 15 Jun 1887 to John Wilbur Hollinger and Ida Selina Blanchard[1] in Constantine, St Joseph, Michigan, United States.

On 17 Jun 1907 Edyth Married William Herbert Blanchard, her first cousin. Because it was illegal to marry a first cousin in the State of Michigan where both lived, Edyth and William traveled to Milwaukee, Wisconsin to be married.[2] The license was issued with an O.T. Williams Permit "dispensing with 5 day limit."[3] The wedding took place at the St. Paul's Church and was officiated by Rector William Austin Smith in an Episcopal ceremony. After marrying, they returned home to Michigan to start their family. Edyth and William had eleven children, ten of which survived to adulthood.

Between 1910 and 1920 Edyth and William moved to New Jersey where their last four children were born.[4] [5] [6]

Edyth passed away on 20 Dec 1985 and is buried at Locustwood Memorial Park in Cherry Hill, New Jersey, USA.[7]
